On arrival in Kenya, you will be welcomed and picked up by our Kubwa Five Safaris guide who will be holding an A4 paper with your name printed on it at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and driven to your hotel in Nairobi.

We're thrilled that you chose to go on safari with us, and now is the moment when all of the planning pays off and your safari dreams begin to come true. You'll meet our team, we'll explain what happens next and answer any questions you might have. Then all that's left to do is go and start this safari trip of a lifetime together.

There's so much for you to enjoy in Nairobi. Everyone who comes here loves the city's museums, its national park and other wildlife attractions, but Nairobi also has terrific restaurants, nightlife, accommodation and shopping. It's all part of the fun of visiting this dynamic country and will provide you with so many unforgettable windows on modern life in Kenya.

Meals and overnight at La Maison Royale Hotel / The Crossroads Hotel.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Samburu National Reserve. You will go for an evening game drive on arrival.

We think you'll fall in love with Samburu National Reserve at first sight. It's a fantastic reserve that doesn't get the crowds you sometimes see in Kenya's south.

The reserve is well-stocked with predators, including lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena, with sightings of elephant, giraffe, hippo and zebra also common. It's a chance to see some northern animals that are hard to see elsewhere, including Somali ostrich, gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, beisa oryx and reticulated giraffe. Fabulous scenery and nearly 400 bird species too.

Going on an evening game drive is one of the highlights of any safari. This is when temperatures cool, the light becomes softer and the wildlife begins to get active. Not only will you be out when the light is best for taking photos, but it's also one of the best times of day for seeing the animals.

Meals and overnight at Samburu Riverside Camp / Umoja Campsite.

After breakfast, you will return to the splendid Samburu National Reserve and enjoy getting to know the place a little better. You will go on a guided walking safari to see the dwellers of this lovely park up close.

Walking safari, Samburu National Reserve

You'll never get tired of going on a walking safari, where you'll leave behind the vehicle and step out into the wild. It can be a little nerve-wracking at first, but you'll be walking with an experienced guide and it's very safe. It can be a real thrill walking in this way, and most people fall in love with the experience.

After the walking safari, you will head back to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will have an evening game drive.

Meals and overnight at Samburu Riverside Camp / Umoja Campsite.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Lake Nakuru National Park.

Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species—particularly the Rothschild giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo, and baboons are all residents here.

Lake Nakuru is one of Kenya’s renowned soda lakes and is world-famous for attracting millions of flamingos to its alkaline shores. Witnessing these legions of fuchsia-pink flamingos feed on the abundant algae that grows in the warm and shallow waters is a sight to behold.

It's not surprising that some of the aerial scenes from Out of Africa were shot here in Lake Nakuru National Park, with its fabulous views of the escarpment, lake and acacia forest. What also makes Lake Nakuru such a special place to visit is its populations of black and white rhinos, tree-climbing lions and endangered Rothschild's giraffes. You might also see leopards, flamingos and many different kinds of birds too.

Evening Game Drive, Lake Nakuru National Park

Meals and overnight at Hotel Citymax/ Marlin Guest Resort/ Sleepway Cottages.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Masai Mara National Reserve.

On arrival, you will visit the local Maasai village for a cultural tour. Learn about the Maasai community and interact with the local  people.

The Maasai Mara Game Reserve offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe over 450 species of animals has been recorded here.

Later, you will go for an evening game drive.

Meals and overnight at Rhino Tourist Camp/ Tayari Luxury Tented Camp/ Destiny Eco Camp Mara.

After breakfast, you will spend the whole day in the park  in search of its well-known predators and their opponents like zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalos and other animal species.

It is the Maasai Mara National Reserve that perhaps has the most spectacular event of the natural world . This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeests and zebras from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture.

Optional activity: A balloon safari at USD 485 per person can be organized early in the morning on this day, then proceed with the normal program.

Meals and overnight at Rhino Tourist Camp/ Tayari Luxury Tented Camp/ Destiny Eco Camp Mara.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. You will have an evening game drive on arrival.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is well-known for being a sanctuary for black rhinos in East Africa; during the game drive, you will get the opportunity to come close to rhinos.

There's a good chance you might see the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) on your visit to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which sits high on the Laikipia
Plateau. The conservancy is a fantastic place to see all five species (although leopard can be elusive), and it's one of the best places to see rhino anywhere in Kenya. 

Other wildlife highlights might include cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra and more. Over 500 bird species have been recorded here too. Ol Pejeta also offers the
chance to see the last two surviving northern white rhino, as well as a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees.

The conservancy's landscapes include savannah grasslands and riverine woodlands.

Meals and overnight at Nanyuki Kongini Camp / The Stables.

After breakfast, you will be driven to Amboseli National Park. You will go for the evening game drive on your arrival at the park.

You're in for a real safari treat when you visit Amboseli. It's one of Kenya's most beautiful parks, thanks to the fact that Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest peak (5895m), dominates most views here. Amboseli is also famous for its large population of elephants with big tusks, and you have an excellent chance of seeing lions, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, wildebeests, and many gazelles while you're here. With 420 bird species recorded, it's also a great place for birding.

Meals and overnight at Nyati Safari Camp / Amboseli Gateway Hotel / Amboseli Mountain View Camp.

You have a full day game drive. Spend more time getting to know the magnificent Amboseli National Park.

It's a fantastic park for wildlife too. There aren't many places in Kenya where you can get this close to elephants, and the park is also good for lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, wildebeest, giraffes and more. 

And every time the clouds clear on the mountain's summit, you'll want to line up a photo of these animals with Mt Kilimanjaro in the background.

Meals and overnight at Nyati Safari Camp / Amboseli Gateway Hotel / Amboseli Mountain View Camp.

After breakfast, you will depart for Tsavo West National Park.

You will have an evening game drive on your arrival at the park.

Tsavo West is a legendary Kenyan park, known for its wild backcountry, famous lions, endangered rhinos, beautiful scenery, and elephants with a reddish hue from taking mudbaths in the red Tsavo dust. 

It's a fantastic park to explore, and you'll probably also see hippo, buffalo, hyena, wildebeest, zebra and giraffe while you're here. Keep an eye out for leopards, too. The birding is first-class, with over 400 different species recorded. Many of the male lions here don't have manes.

Meals and overnight at Kiwanjani Eco Lodge / KWS Lake Jipe Cottages.

After breakfast, you will have an early morning game drive, then you will be driven to Tsavo East National Park. 

Put on some warm clothes and enjoy an early morning game drive. This is the perfect time to experience the wildlife and the landscapes they inhabit. The light is soft and warm – perfect for photography – and most animals are out and about, and active. If you’re not an early riser, you’ll definitely want to make an exception here.

On arrival in Tsavo East National Park, you will go for the evening game drive.

You'll love the warm light and cooler temperatures as we take you out to explore on your evening game drive. This time of day is when both predators and prey are most active and it can feel as though anything could happen at any moment. This is when you'll most enjoy being on safari.

Welcome to Tsavo East, one of Kenya's largest and wildest national parks. The rugged landscape is best known for its lions (many of the males have very scruffy manes, if at all), and for its many elephants coated in Tsavo's distinctive red dust.

The park's east is generally excellent for cheetah sightings, while other elusive species include the Somali ostrich, gerenuk and the extremely rare hirola antelope. Nearly 500 bird species have been sighted here.

Meals and overnight at Tausa Tsavo Eco Lodge.

You will have an early morning game drive, thereafter be transferred to Diani Beach.

Diani Beach is simply stunning. Apart from lazing on the pretty curve of sand overlooking the Indian Ocean, you'll love the lush palm forests, coral mosques nearby and plenty of fine places to eat, drink and enjoy the gentle sea breeze.

After breakfast, you will go explore Mombasa town. Get the perfect introduction to the city by visiting with a local guide, who will share stories about Mombasa culture and heritage, and introduce you to local cuisine in the old town market.

You will experience the thrill of big game fishing outside the barrier reef, snorkel in the calm ocean waters from a glass bottomed boat, or try your hand at windsurfing or scuba diving.
